This privacy policy covers the Personal Customer Information ("Personal Customer Information") we collect from you when you provide your email address and/or name and mailing address at International Guitar Institute events, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. When you provide Personal Customer Information in-person, we receive and collect certain information. We collect Personal Customer Information by:
- A customer filling out a paper form and dropping it in a special email collection drop box:
When you put your Personal Customer Information in our email collection boxes, it is sent to a secure storage and e-mail list to be deployed and your information is added to our customer database. This includes your email address and if provided, your name, mailing address, city, state, zip, the event where the information was submitted, and whether your email address is a home or work address (if provided).
- Using pixel tags or clear GIFs:
To help us understand the effectiveness of our email marketing efforts, the International Guitar Institute may use "message format" and "message open" sensing technologies. Both technologies require the use of pixel tags or clear GIFs (also called web beacons). The "message format" sensing technology allows us to recognize whether you have enabled your email program to receive HTML emails; if so, this information is then associated with your email address so that subsequent messages can be sent to you in HTML format. The "message open" sensing technology allows us to recognize whether you have opened our email message. We can only detect this if your have enabled your email program to receive HTML emails.
- A customer opts in to receive email from the International Guitar Institute via online promotion or email.

How we use and share Personal Customer Information:
The International Guitar Institute shares Personal Customer Information as follows:
- Subcontractors:
We send Personal Customer Information to third-party subcontractors and agents who work on our behalf and provide certain services. These third parties do not have the right to use the Personal Customer Information beyond what is necessary to assist us. They are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of the Personal Customer Information and are restricted from using such information in any way not expressly authorized by The International Guitar Institute.
- Trustworthy Third Parties:
From time to time, on limited bases, we share Personal Customer Information - never credit card information - with trustworthy third parties so that they can promote their products and services. - Credit card companies:
All credit card transactions made at IGI events are handled by a third-party financial institution and their vendors, which receive the credit card number and other personal identifying information only to verify the credit card numbers and process transactions.
- Law Enforcement Investigations:
The International Guitar Institute may release Personal Customer Information when we believe, in our good judgment, that such release is reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce or apply the terms of any of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the International Guitar Institute customers.
