Classical Guitar Festival-
What you should know and what is new
What's new for composers with the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act of 2006?
Prior law treated income from the sale or exchange of a self-created musical work or the copyright therefrom as ordinary income. Also, expenses incurred to place a musical work or a copyright therefrom into service were capitalized.
The Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act of 2006 treats the sale or exchange of a self-created musical work or the copyright therefrom as the sale or exchange of a capital asset for tax years beginning after the date of enactment and before January 1, 2011. Also, expenses incurred to place such an item in service may now be amortized over five years. Accordingly, music publishers can now deduct over five years the advances given to song writers.
What is a Master Class?
It's very simple, a master class is a public lesson. If you choose to attend one of our events as a CAMC Student, you will have your lessons in front of a live audience. These lessons are taught only by world class performers. In addition, you will be able to attend and observe the classes of your peers.
Who are the Master Class teachers?
The master classes are taught by the event Concert Artists. To view the concert artists for the Alexandria Guitar Festival or the Las Vegas Guitar Festival please kick on one of the following links below. The Suzuki Institute instructors in Alexandria teach and perform exclusively in the Suzuki Institute courses.

Will all the master classes be scheduled with the same teacher?
This will only happen if you request the same teacher. We typically schedule all three lessons with different teachers. Teacher requests are filled on a first-come first-serve basis.
Does my child have to study Suzuki guitar before they attend the Alexandria Suzuki guitar Insitute?
No, but the Suzuki guitar method is based on a prescribed repertoire that is carefully chosen with the goal of helping your child advance quickly and with ease. If you would like to find a Suzuki teacher please visit www.SuzukiAssociation.org. If you cannot find a Suzuki instructor in your area you can still pick up the Suzuki repertoire books and work through them with another local instructor. Our institute specialists can then further assist you during the Suzuki Guitar Institute in Alexandria.
