The International Guitar Institute

The purpose of the organization is to stimulate interest and to gain a wider acceptance of classic guitar music as an American art form and to develop an appreciation in the general public for this guitar music by conducting public classical guitar festivals, conventions, or concerts at which members of public may hear true guitar music, written and played by serious performers of this music. Through its educational workshops, the organization will also foster and encourage the talent and ability of young musical artists who have not yet reached a stage of development and professional recognition needed to obtain concert engagements. The International Guitar Institute is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of classical, flamenco, and jazz, guitar in the world of music. The IGI is currently the sponsoring and managing organization for the Alexandria Guitar Festival of Virginia, the Las Vegas Guitar Festival of Nevada, and the Rochester Guitar Festival of New York, with three additional workshops under development in regions inside and outside of the United States. The IGI is also the founding organization of Digital Archive, an MP3 retail shopping cart designed to catalog and sell the guitar music of our public festivals and concerts; now you can take the festival home with you.
